RESEARCH

COOPERATIVE RESEARCH

LPRC advocates for and conducts fisheries research in collaborations with commercial and recreational fishermen. We have been working with fishing industry partners, and specifically with the Gloucester fleet, since the early 1990s. Over the years we have worked with approximately 20 US and Canadian commercial and charter boats and over 885 recreational captains and anglers. We believe that those who spend the most time on the ocean fishing and observing fish species and their environment have crucial insights into the best ways to learn more about them, and what scientific questions are important to address. Thank you to all of our fishing partners!
